Enjoy nature and role of sacred service.

§ 0

Desiree Leigh Thompson is my physical role. But I also have another role. That is Desiree in her divine role. The physical role is the 'work' that I must do here on earth for the expansion of the totality. By embracing spirit and allowing the light to flow through me in my physical role, I am guided by my divine role. In essence, there is no separation of roles because one could not be without the other.

Being guided by your divine role serves a great purpose for All That Is. Because all others are a reflection of each other and the reflection of the Universe, serving others, serves you at the same time. So what does it really mean when we are of service to each other and then ourselves at the same time? How could this be? When we serve or minister others in our physical work with our divine purpose in heart (both our roles), we are basically ministering to ourselves, not only the other person(s) standing in front of you. If we are really a reflection of each other, just as a still lake is to your physical image, then we are serving our selves. We are serving the One. We are basically seeking out what we need; or what we desire. What the Ultimate desires. We are seeking our expansion. At the same time, we are sending the divine message of the Ultimate through all our physical experiences.

Like I mentioned earlier, there is no separation. One without the other would not exist. Take a child for instance. To birth a baby we need both sperm and egg. We need both masculine and feminine. The divine role is about taking in my personal daily experiences of service, which constitute many things, and seeing all of those experiences with the light or though the eyes of Source.

How To:
To best expand your energies with Joy and to raise your vibration, open your heart and allow your divine light to flow through you. It will then flow freely to others, opening and expanding their heart's while you're in service.

Erykah Badu has been known to have her feet firmly planted on the ground and her head somewhere in another dimension. Even when some of her songs make me scratch my head and wonder "what the....?!" I still enjoy them for the most part. The first installment of her New Amerykah series found the singer at her most aggressive and politically charged taking on social issues like inner city crime, poverty, and racism with jams like Soldier and That Hump. Return of the Ankh, the next installment, trades in Badu's razor sharp philosophy on what's going on in the world for softer topics like love and matters of the heart. Erykah has been quite open about love on her earlier albums, but she digs deeper and allows herself to be even more vulnerable on this one.

The album opens with the too short 20 Feet Tall. Accompanied by a rocking chair and a mystical beat, she wonders why her lover has closed himself off from her. "My love what did I do?/to make you fall so far from me?.... Then you/you built a wall/a 20 foot wall so I couldnt see." Erykah wishes to escape from the daily pressures from her "music, lover, and my babies" and get "a ticket outta town/A look around/and a safe touch down" on the laidback Window Seat. I don't know about you, but there have been many moments where escapism has tempted me from facing the oftentimes stressful moments in life. But you still want someone who needs you back home to tell you to "come back, come back, baby, come back!"

Turn Me Away (Get MuNNY) could best be described as a gold digger's anthem. Using a soft, girly voice with a hopscotch sounding rhythm, Badu uses her charm to swindle a guy out of his money. She promises to "cook like your mother" and "be your best friend", but confesses "I'm your predator, hey/Cuz Munny I want you bad!" On the flip side, the airy Gone Baby, Don't Be Long is about being so in love with a new flame that you don't want him out of your sight for a second. "Where you going why don't you stop?/Baby, what's the rush?/You got me feeling like a girl with the fiendish crush/Where you go, where you go, boy, I miss you much!" "But I know you gotta get your hustle on" (a nod to The Otherside of the Game).

Love reminds me alot of the last scene in Crooklyn with the old footage of the Soul Train dancers. I'm not sure what song it samples, but it's reminiscent of James Brown's old school dirty funk. "Never ever met a lover quite like you/Thought I fell in love with Superman, it's true/Kryptonite can't make you come up off that thing/Baby, baby, I'm about to go insane!" That's about it as far as the lyrics are concerned, but it's hypnotic and holds my attention all of it's 6 minutes and 2 seconds. Erykah's verses vibe perfectly with another old school sample as she asks a man who shuts her out when it comes to his feelings to open up to her on the soulful Umm Hmm. The jazzy You Loving Me (Session) is much too short. With lyrics "too terrible to write" in the booklet, Badu sings about a man so blinded by his love for her that he ignores her constant cheating and disrespectful behavior. Amy Winehouse would probably give it two thumbs up.

Fall in Love (Your Funeral) is a warning to any man out there that if they want to get with Miss Badu they'll have to meet her standards. "It's gonna be some/Slow sangin' and flower bringin'/If my burglar alarm starts ringin'!" She'd much rather you "go back the way you came" if you can't handle it. The overused sample of Eddie Kendricks' Intimate Friends sound fresh on this track. Rather than being in the forefront, it blends in with the background for a more understated feel. Agitation is a short Stevie Wonder inspired interlude and the instrumental Incense features a dreamy harp and some heavenly vamps from Badu.

Out My Mind, Just in Time recalls Green Eyes from the Mama's Gun LP. At first a "recovering undercover over-lover/recovering from a love I can't get over", she wrestles with the grief the end of a love affair often brings. By the end of the song she finds the strength to move on and grow from the pain. It's not as good as Green Eyes, but I give Erykah credit for bringing something new to the subject rather than rehashing or copying her older material. Love. Sometimes it makes your heart burst with pleasure or tear in shreds from an attack, but we'll all feel it at some point. One thing's for sure, Badu's interpretation of it never stales.

Having at this point only released three studio albums in a career that at this point had been a decade long Erykah Badu decided to focus her energies on a series of conceptual albums that would keep her consistantly making music for a good while to come. This is the first volume of the series. Ever mindful not only of her love and genuine respect for not only the music but the spirit of jazz-funk Erykah follows her muse here in every possible way she can. With the exception of the intro "Amerykahn Promise" and "The Cell" the music here generally shys away from uptempo funk and in doing so does prove a point. Not only is funk by it's nature a somewhat slower music but often enough it's been felt that such a slower burning variety of groove will bring more attention to the lyrics. Of course it should also be noted that the two uptempo songs here have the most driving messages of the albums overall concept. This was released in an era where there was a lot of uncertainty in the country and world at large and the very poor economics of the period were having intense effects on the music industry Erykah was a part of,however awkward that may have been for her. The general message in this music has to do with the facts as she saw them: that a whole society of people wanting to improve the conditions of their lives in the 60's and 70's had,for one reason or another found that the generation after them had neglected that promise and/or been neglected themselves and, more importantly that no one seemed to be paying attention. Here we find tales of people still trapped in the same ghetto syndromes of poverty and lack of knowledge that had stirred so much awareness in the past so it's only fitting that this album actually has more a 70's flavor than you'd believe. The album has this charred There's a Riot Goin' On-era Sly feel to it,only difference being there are a lot of hip-hop effects added into the mix. "Honey",the bonus cut here is the only song I'd have to actually stands out more as an individual piece of music on what otherwise winds up being a very album oriented project. The album certainly packs more individual punches verbally,in terms of lyrics than it does musically but it does have a nice slow burning acid funk-jazz flow to it all anyway. Honestly......the album looks a lot more exciting than it sounds in the end due to the fact everything from the vocals, the arrangements and even the powerful lyrics seem to hint at some mild personal 8 is a part of his resignation. Fortunately, we do not end this chapter of Erykah Badu's music career.

Bunuel and Dali's surreal visions of tireless fans dissatisfied with the time imposed by society, "educated and guided (in his case), madness and atheism, and (his case), nymphomania and desperate debauchery is a wild and surprising work art.
The constant images of animals, Scorpions opened a beetle, dog, cow, fly, giraffe, horse, feathers and eggs shows small differences between man and the world foundation.
The disturbing visions of the pope and hisCardinals stranded on the beach, shipwrecked forever, and the image of Christ as orgiastic, violent, mystical, ecstatic, indifferent to the purity and virginity also reflects the small differences between the common man, an animal purely instinctive, civil and spiritual power (whoever they may be).
After all, the music, the wonders of this fabulous drive short-garde, whether your score Bunuel or the works of Debussy, Mozart, Wagner, Beethoven, Mendelssohn andSchubert.
Highly recommended for those who can see past mockery of Christianity and "high society", and recognize art and magic, ironic, subversive subconscious milieu of Bunuel and Dali.

Toni Braxton latest is one of those albums that really always better as you play repeatedly. Now Ridge, it seems that the singer's song choice little similar to those of young women who are currently riding high place in the top of the charts. But after hearing several times, it seems that the one voice Braxton, delivery, the boundaries of the songs are not so memorable that she was able to overcome in the early 90s.

"Pulse," though not "knock" on previous work Braxton is still a worthwhile exercise, and if the singer to meet fans and newcomers.

About the "Make My Heart video is about the money and should motivate buyers to get the album.

When I was a kid and my family went on the road, we decide to listen to music and this was the only group that we all liked.

I think this album as a trippy, kind of fun. Has a lot of comic elements with the falsetto voice, horns, and lyrics. The last time I dig the xylophone and the combination of low 'I Love has found a way "and the campiness of" Mr. Skin ". Also has some beautiful songs such as "Nature's Way" (perhaps his biggest hit) and "Lonely Soldier" and somepsychadelic songs like "Space Child" and "If I touch you." They put in a lot of sound effects to play the reverse loops, and I think have been described as ahead of its time. You have three-part harmonies, as having precedence in 60 years seems to be an 'art of dying more. There really are no bad songs on the album, and most of them are very catchy.

Spirit does not become famous mass of some of his contemporaries, because of some bad breaks (includingsome idiot on Rolling Stone Trashed, I believe), but equally talented as a musician and author, and have had a long career. I would like this album if you want to recommend, Classic Rock, but has heard, all other persons, such as classic rock and want to hear something "new."

Proud to America.

§ 0

Howard Zinn, writing recently in The Progressive, said that this Independence Day Americans "...would have done well to renounce nationalism and all its symbols: its flags, its pledges of allegiance, its anthems, its insistence in song that God must single out America to be blessed." His column was an argument against the basic idea that we should consider ourselves Americans, and instead advocated an "allegiance to the human race," as if the two were somehow incompatible.

He described our soldiers in Iraq as "victims...of our government's lies" and claimed that Americans suffer from "a loss of a sense of proportion." To support this claim, he said nationalist thinking had led us to such actions as the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in response to Pearl Harbor, and the killing of tens of thousands in the Global War on Terror in response to the deaths of 3,000 Americans in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, a clear indication of our "loss of a sense of proportion." The implication, of course, is that we should have been much more restrained after being attacked by a ruthless enemy, in 1941 and again in 2001.

With all due respect to Mr. Zinn's opinion, I must disagree. I take great pride not in the fact that I am a soldier, but in the fact that I am an American soldier. I am as capable at helping others as I am at hurting them, and I take far more pleasure in the former than I do in the latter. I am immensely proud and humbled to have the honor of representing my nation, as a member of the armed forces, in bringing relief to those who need it, and justice to those who deserve it.

I, and I believe most Americans, love all the symbols of our greatness: our flag, our anthem, our history, and our culture. I have sworn my life to defending the principles upon which this country was founded, and I do believe with all my heart that our nation is special and unique.

I teach my children to respect our flag and our country, and to be thankful for the blessings we enjoy. I get choked up at the playing of "The Star Spangled Banner" and at the passing of Old Glory, and I and my children stand and give proper honors when either occurs. That may make me a nationalist in Mr. Zinn's eyes, but it doesn't make me any less a member of the human race.

And what about that greatest symbol of America, our national colors, that Mr. Zinn would have us put away? Our flag stands for what this nation is: a beacon of hope to the rest of the world, a place where freedom and prosperity are available to all who come here peaceably and are willing to work for it. It represents the values and beliefs that our soldiers are dying for, because they know America is worth preserving. It represents that magical place where people from around the world still long to be, and it stands for justice and equality, the inherent human rights that are sadly lacking in many places around the world.

Do we sometimes make mistakes in dealing with other nations? Yes, of course, but this nation represents a land where good triumphs more often than not, and that is why the rest of the world continues to look to us for guidance and hope. And it is why our enemies seek to destroy us and everything that we represent.

I have been around the world and seen the joy in people's eyes when American help has arrived, and I have felt pride and thankfulness for being part of such a wonderful nation, knowing that few other countries could provide the hope and promise that we do. And I have seen the utter fear in those who know that we have come to right the wrongs on behalf of those who cannot fight for themselves against tyranny and oppression. A former commanding officer of mine summed it up beautifully when he said, "When we deploy our forces, one of two things happens: people either say 'Thank God, they're coming, or they say, 'Oh shit, they're coming.'" Both speak to the greatness of this nation.

The flag, and all our symbols of national pride, mean something because they represent all that is good and right about America, and all that can be good and right in the world. They serve as an inspiration and source of pride not only to most Americans, but also to everyone who wants to be an American or wants their nation to be more like ours.

No, the time has not come to renounce nationalism and symbols of national pride. Instead, now, more than ever, it is time to stand up and be counted. Because now is a time of great peril for our nation, when radical enemies seek to destroy everything we stand for and everything we believe in. And it will take proud Americans, and not proud humans, to ensure that our country and our way of life continue, for us, and for the rest of the world.

I've always enjoyed Erykah Badu's music because of its combination of soul and funk. Because she blends them so carefully on each release, listening is a fun/exciting adventure that makes each CD worth the wait. Ankh 2 is a near perfect set of music. Each piece enjoyable to hear; all of the lyrics structured with Ms. Badu's intelligent sense of humor. The only thing missing here is her usual sinister/evil-twin/funk. There is no "Booty" (Mama's Gun) and that is a shame. For a moment I thought "You Loving Me" was headed in that direction, but alas, she cuts it short, exclaiming, "...that's terrible!" For some of us, the continuation would have been just what the CD needed to make it absolutely perfect. Without it, it only reaches damn-near perfection.

Note to Erykah, don't censor yourself! There are plenty of people willing to do that later. Some of us like your evil side!

Violent Course

§ 0

I almost had bitten her to death
I had lost trust and faith
She was impossible to tackle
I was in rage and struck her head on table

Was I becoming cruel animal?
I was loosing calm on her arrival
She was very much irritant
My reaction was hostile and instant

What was the reason to infuriate?
Why were we doing everything to vitiate?
Why no one as coming to help and initiate?
Out side people knew we were so intimate

It was going well with no worry
I too was not taking any steps in hurry
I used to tell her in advance an earnest sorry
She used to be in pain looked very weary

She had all the characters of good woman
She knew exactly how to respect man
She did whatever possibly could do
She served me in her capacity very true

She wanted her companion to remain at ease
She preferred lonely life with peace
That could have been very fine
I did smell rat and acted as swine

I almost mistrusted her and took to offence
I used to vigil on her and watched from fence
She was proving hostile and almost impossible
I could see unhappiness on face which was very much visible

She was welcome all over and got immense fame
I tried to find out the reason with shame
Why everybody loved her and I failed?
Why I felt jealousy in four walls of jail?

I had no reason to feel insecure
She was loved by all and almost sure
Why I failed to promise her and reassure?
She remained holy and almost pure

It was driving me desperately to the corner
I was in no mood to have support or garner
She did her best to come to an understanding
I had set the course and didn't go for mending

I developed tendency to hate
She could sense it very late
She had no option but to surrender
I was cutting her strength from under

Why she was loved by all and I couldn't?
Why I made excuses and daily fought?
It was desperately driving me to the corner
I took her for granted and considered as owner

It is greatness on the part of female
She always accepts the dominance of male
I am unable to understand what makes her position worst?
In all the respect she puts her feet forward and sacrifices first

Dark night of the soul

§ 0

We are living in turbulent times ~ times of darkness and times of light ~ times of despair and times of joy. How can we better serve ourselves during these incredible times as we move more fully into what is being hailed as the Spirit Century?

First, let us look at where the feminine consciousness is. For many walking this planet right now it is a time of awakening. We know, somewhere deep in our bellies, that there is more to life than we have been taught. There seems to be a yearning - to connect with ourselves, to connect with others in a place of safety and vulnerability - to be all that we know we can be ~ and yet a part of us has forgotten the path to take. In fact many of us never even knew there was a path and so we have been walking or running up one road, only to find a dead end, or more painfully, we are afraid to move at all and so we remain stagnant, stuck and fractured ~ believing that this is all there is!

For men it is even more difficult. Let We must first return to live in harmony for all time. The women recognized as equivalent to being acclaimed as the flag bearer of life. It is time for these destructive energy. In order to protect women, people of peace before he held sacred aside, this place took all the weapons you. You can not kill another person without heart, who will strengthen the truth we become vulnerable to soft real rapfear, greed, pain and sadness... all of which still reverberate on the planet today.

Through the ages we moved in a slow state of consciousness, forgetting all that we knew to be true and believing instead the lies that have now almost become the truth! The beliefs that money holds the keys to life, that white is better than black, that thin is better than fat, that the west is better than the east, that blame is easier than responsibility and so it goes on.

Then came the end of the Age of Pisces. Fish, the duality, the worst case of human gave us the best time to represent this what he can, until now. However, our eggs ..... we fear that drive some of us it is not by truth and integrity than to redefine the wake have been taught for ages. This is the birth of a child as we struggle to breathe through pain and fear in some of our dive, we will never leave us to try some of that ~choosing to anaesthetise ourselves to stop that very pain. Yet, like labour, we cannot stop that which has started ~ we simply have to stay in our hearts, breathe, allow, surrender and the end result ~ a beautiful new consciousness arising on this planet. The question is how can we, the collective consciousness of the world, help birth this new/old way of being more?

As children most of us were trained to be good, do as we were told ~ you know the scenario. We have layers of conditioning, from our parents, from our church, from school, from our parents and from society. We were given beliefs that no longer serve us.

Boys ~ be tough, don't cry, be strong, beat your opponent, winning is everything, you have to grow up and provide for your family, the family business will be yours (whether you want it or not), I gave up everything for you to have a good education etc.

Girls ~ be nice, be good, don't be loud, be a pleaser, look after everyone else first, give more than you receive, women are not as good as men (especially true in European cultures), you have to be married, you have to have children etc.

Some of us rebelled. Some girls made decisions to be the opposite of their mothers... many of whom gave up a lot of who they were and what they could be for their families, resulting in a loss of power. Some chose to be like their fathers who were strong, tough and "made it" in the world which favoured materialism, this often resulted in isolation and Solitude and software, unique women to give up. Go against some boys, their fathers had been laughing their delicate calm severe. People unfortunately everyone is really trying to move as giving up ... is my core to find a variety of options we need to do now.

This core sleep and lay thousands of years, and now can be likened to the sun and water species has reachedStarting to crack. However, the kernel does not trust its kind to grow toward the light itself is corrupt had never seen daylight. We have deep feelings for fear of the surface there still running .... so everyone has the right under the push of grief is not right, if I'm wrong, what I ? Most people are deeply angry that completely deny it, its essence, we deal with life (how to use influence and violence LookupOf course, just a lull myself more useful drug.) Most of us, these feelings are the core, the family does not fit our paradigm, yet they are still there, bubbling like an ancient volcano, it was not permitted unless, business day of explosive coughing roar ...... waiting for the stomach and nervous voice probably announce the creation of us eat from the inside or cancer. Perhaps depression (not express anger) orPersistent source of lovers love. - The relationship, so I tell the truth I met many like you want to punish children because we did not have to learn to speak the truth continues to mature, in which case - You left me - I do not love us like we do good and a liar in any way, and forgot to tell the truth to yourself. Women think the flu has been jingles, TV ads, "This medicine men" to takeof actually taking care of ourselves by resting our bodies. How many times do you speak with people who have lost someone or something (job, money et al) and you ask how they are ~ the normal response is "I'm fine".

How do we change the continuing patterns that keep repeating like a hologram through our lives. Many people read the books, listen to the tapes, go to the workshops and because we live in an instant society, expect the results to be instantaneous and ever lasting. When they They (mostly they) refused to go back and they like the eternal, rather than condemnation is determined to live or worse, they strengthen the core and re-do everything right. Our life is dancing permanent, we sometimes we go back we have it to move again, you should be aware that moving towards more shows moving to another round. Since no plant a mixture of sun and rain, our lives ..... we do not grow, the need to embrace solar dayour rainy days with equal acceptance, recognising both as necessary forces toward our growth and healing. Perhaps we should have tattooed on our hands "It is not what happens to you it is how you deal with what happens". The challenge is, because we spend vast amounts of time in denial that we rarely dip into the pit of our pain and investigate the truth about a situation. We deny the dark side of our soul, fearing it beyond all else. Like Marianne Williamson says in her wonderful poem... it is Our navy is not afraid of us, this is basically our light, we are intelligent, and smart people and enlighten

What is the dark night of the soul like? That most of us are a little down time at some point, our trip seemed like an eternity to perfect what is the place. This is a deep regret over the broken relationship. It is an old mode of tension in our bodies firmly shame. It's parents could not give a sense of abandonmentDespite the need to contact us, and it was all they offer. This inner anger rape of our sisters and brothers. Her dislike of all forms of child abuse. This is the fear of death comes from moves towards sadness and death of a loved one ill. It is our desire to deprive the planet of your choice. We can not understand it because you have the right to move the location of the subconscious has been impossible to goAl. Like all the old legends and stories, all the heroes, not necessarily consciously, we entered into an abyss: The Fisher King, Odysseus. Taken to be killed by hunters in the forest Snow White. Dorothy began her stay at the legendary Oz. After all, we are aware of to allow the needs of our fall bounty if you want to see the eyes of the truth of the story under the sun is back, wisely knows, the other touch Our hotel is true. Thenthe journey will be compete and we will receive the prize - the kingdom of our Self.

To be with oneself in whatever state of being needs to be acceptable. If it is anger, be with that anger, look to see where it originated from ~ anger is not getting what you want, so what do you really want? If it is sadness go into it with a passion and be there acknowledging it and allowing it. Know that there are acceptable ways of expressing every emotion (preferably not dumping it onto someone else). Scream, yell, rant, rave, sob ~ feel those emotions for they are what keep you alive and in their expression comes more life. Sacred Circles have been used for centuries for exactly those purposes. The tenet of a circle is a safe place where you can be validated for the truth of who you are. As men and women on this planet we need to create for ourselves a space where we can be with others and acknowledge our emotions, knowing that we won't be judged or rejected. In that acceptance comes Danger to the depth of our being a little bit deeper motivation of us our safe. Like breathing, while efforts are hard and heavy, yet many days are "normal" age of terror is the most shallow women brings us back to the normal rhythm of life at any time.

One way is through to find the path to true self. The truth is, we are all unique and wonderful people, and to share their gifts. People are affectionate and lovingand wisdom, perhaps we can heal some of the past and allow the core to emerge. As Jean Houston said: "It is the entelechy of an acorn to be an oak. It is the entelechy of a baby to be an adult and of you to be the God only who or what. What happens in sacred psychology is the tapping into the entelechy of the self, the level most directly related to the Divine Self."

I ask you to consider this beautiful piece (source unknown). How might your life have been different if when you were a young person, the first time you felt feelings of depression or sadness, an older person had come to sit with you? If they had come to sit with you as someone had come to sit with them the first time they had feelings of depression or sadness. To simply sit, quietly, perhaps wordlessly - to sit with you during your dark times. And how might your life have been different if this person had accepted your feelings. Accepted them so completely and fully that you began to feel safe with them. If Contact jurisdiction and not try ... All smiles betray your feelings, do you deny the darkness. People just you, your pain and the moment when the dark .... sat quietly to reflect it, to reflect your pain in your witness and participate in its quiet dignity you .... just pain and depression to learn to respect the person you want to see if this trust, it can also be the spark of faithMeaning and truth of the dark. How would your life different?

For that, the life of me I'm different, I love what you do not have to consciously choose ...... and surround myself with who I am not like I like warts I respect all people yourself, you are the life to send a recognition awareness of gifts after the class and I to create prepared to tell the truth you I dare to dive deep wellYou can not surround yourself with loving people - not just because you have! Unique, God is.

The album certainly packs more individual punches verbally,in terms of lyrics than it does musically but it does have a nice slow burning acid funk-jazz flow to it all anyway. Life and times of John Keats.

§ 0

John Keats, I am not sure why but he has always struck me as being somewhat old, but of course he was never old, he died at the tender age of twenty-five. I don't know why I think that way, whether it be his worldly views or his whole of the moon visions or perhaps the way the legion of Romantics exalt him so. He was a Londoner, born in 1795 to a tavern owner, remarkably the tavern still stands, nowadays trading as Keats at the Globe. Life wasn't easy for the young Keats, both his parents died before he was ten, he was removed from his education and apprenticed to a surgeon. However, he continued an absorption in literature that had developed during his early schooling, spending huge amounts of time writing a translation of Virgil's Aeneid. But he still did not envision himself as a poet, never actually writing a single line until he was eighteen.

Edmund Spenser's The Faerie Queene was to change all that, awakening Keats and stirring up the literary beast inside of him. Spencer's parallel universe enthralled him, as did the Spenserian stanza, the allegorical genius and the symbolic words - all of it was to enchant the little surgeon, he would never be the same again. He began to seek out those who had gone before, Shakespeare and Chaucer becoming great heroes of his. Keats was hooked, he abandoned all intention of pursuing a medical career, he immersed himself in the literary world and in 1817 he published his first book of poetry entitled Poems. It didn't light up the world, it sold poorly and was savaged by the critics.

Undaunted, Keats embarked on a road-trip, writing parts of what was to be his renowned Endymion, the solitude and the focus suited Keats, complete immersion and concentration in his work bringing out the very best in him. The trip also had the effect of introducing him to many new acquaintances, one of which was Benjamin Bailey, whom he went to stay in Oxford with and who had a great influence on his work. Bailey lauded over Keats' talent, encouraging the young writer's endeavours. His time at Oxford allowed him to think more deeply about his poetry, study other poets and refine his own style. However, on his return to London he was to become completely distracted by his brother's dire illness. In 1818, he toured the Lake District and Scotland with Charles Brown, once again away from all distractions, he raised his work to a new level. But upon his return to London the problems that he faced were mountainous - his brother's illness, continued criticism of his work and all the distractions of the city. In addition, Keats' own health was in decline and he was falling in love, it appeared that the work would be put on the backburner.

Fortunately, it was not to be the case, sure there were throwaway love songs but he also composed his wondrous and eternally beautiful Odes. The boy had arrived, he would now forever be remembered as a great poet. Tragically, Keats would not live much longer, he contracted tuberculosis in early 1820, he himself dwelt on no false pretence, he realised that it was the beginning of the end. Poignantly, the world had begun to sit up and take notice of Keats' genius, he was triumphing whilst dying. A last ditch attempt was hatched to improve his health, with a trip to Italy and it's warm climate being arranged in late 1820. He was accompanied on the journey by his friend the artist Anthony Severn. Unfortunately, his health continued To decrease, and many writers think will one day emulate Shakespeare died in Rome in February 1821.

This is the eighth album, Pearl Jam, and it is everything you expect from them. While the album has better songs than the previous version of Riot Act was not yet as good as ten, vs. Your music is certainly the same force and quality maintained over the years, even with the band members now in their '40 's.

This album contains "Unemployable" with its tough guitar riffs and catchy vocal melodies and interesting added. You switch styles and featuresmore ballad type songs like "Parachutes" and "Come Back", that things tone down a bit ', but very moving and interesting texts. Guitarist Stone Gossard doing a great job with the creation of strong guitar on most tracks, with "Inside Job" shows the band really made their musicianship and chemistry. Pearl Jam have known for laying low-key with the press. do interviews, gossip may be minimized, but sales of the album, it was a good choice? Perhaps more pressingwould mean an increase in sales of this great band.

I've always enjoyed Erykah Badu's music because of its combination of soul and funk. Because she blends them so carefully on each release, listening is a fun/exciting adventure that makes each CD worth the wait. Ankh 2 is a near perfect set of music. Sade - Military Review's album Love.

Tuesday, 13 July 2010 § 0

Having already sold over 50 million albums, British Nigerian soul icon Sade Adu is ready to notch up a few more accomplishments with her band's sixth album - Soldier of Love. Sade has not released an album since their multi-platinum album of 2000 titled Lovers Rock and it hasn't come sooner enough.

As with much of her work, Sade dances the line between seductive mood setter and haunting soul searcher. Morning Bird exemplifies this trait via a broody piano laced tale of lost love.

The title track and first single hemorrhages emotional distress but offers signs of hope to the listener. The track portrays Sade as a determined war scarred vet complete with rattling snares and drill sergeant like chants scattered through out. Long Hard Road is in the same vein but more somber.

Sade has reveled in telling tales of sorrow and hardship (Pearls, Jezebel, Please Send Me Someone To Love) and The Moon and the Sky continues this trend. The track is a perfect opener and one of the highlights here. Bring Me Home is driven by a strong guitar melody and an almost hip hop backing beat with eerie twisted cries. With lyrics delivered via equally eerie layered vocals yearning for escape from various hostilities - "The dawn holds the heaviness of the night. I've heard the restless sighs and lovers lies. The brook, the beach and seen the devil's eyes. So bring me home".

Soldier of Love almost overwhelms the listener with broodiness but the mood is illuminated by the Reggae-type sway of Babyfather. The prevalent theme of the album is hammered back home thanks to blues infused tracks Be That Easy and In Another Time. A fully live sounding album, this is what Sade fans of old would come to expect. The only issue I have is with the track The Safest Place which is a little messy lyrically at times.

With her band still in tact since their 1984 debut, Adu's voice is as slick and smoky as ever and still possesses that instantly recognizable ache. Just like fellow label mate Maxwell's long hiatus, Sade has stayed true to her past unique and beautiful style. Although many people are at war or claim to be when it comes to love, Sade is a war veteran who has been in the field for decades and amongst a sea of rivals she still is one of the generals.
